Pipeline protection is used to protect pipelines of relatively small length, with external insulation and without electrical contacts with other structures.

The number of protectors required for the electrochemical protection of the pipeline is assembled into a group. The protectors are placed horizontally in one trench with a depth of at least 1.8 m and a width of at least 0.15 m at a distance of 3 to 5 m from the pipeline in one or more rows, according to the calculated parameters along the pipeline route. To measure the potential difference and connect cables, fenced control and measuring columns (CMC) are installed above the pipeline axis. All the group protectors are electrically connected to the pipeline through the CMC. Fencing is provided for the CMC. Control and measuring columns are installed above the pipeline axis.
